On Sept 25, two friends - Matt
and Susan - and I decided we would hike the Grand Canyon -
North Rim to South Rim all in ONE day. For Susan and I, it would be our first trip to this Natural Wonder of the World. The hike would entail getting up at 5 AM and begin the hike down the Bright Angel Trail in the dark. 6 hours and 14 miles of switchbacks later, we finally reached the Colorado River. After a quick lunch break, we began the grueling hike back up the next 12 miles and miles of switchbacks. We finally reached the top just in time for a spectacular sunset involving a localized rain storm. After checking into our rim-side cabin, Susan had a nice bottle of French wine waiting for our consumption. The Grand Canyon is a fabulous
World Wonder that everyone should take the time to visit.
